SARASOTA, FLORIDA – Eric Cross of Home Resource was recently named in a Tiffany & Co. Jewelry website blog. The prestigious jewelry company posted the announcement of his appointment to General Manager of Home Resource, the leading contemporary furniture retailer on the Gulf Coast.
Cross has 29 years of experience in luxury fashion retail, creating interior and window merchandising visuals. He last served as Visual Manager for Saks Fifth Avenue in Sarasota and Naples, Florida. Prior to Saks, Cross did visual merchandizing for Marshall Field’s in Chicago, where he worked on special events for designers Givenchy, Karl Lagerfeld, Valentino, Gianni Versace, Mary McFadden, Zandra Rhodes, Oscar de la Renta, Bill Blass, Perry Ellis, Calvin Klein, Paloma Picasso and Emanuel Ungaro.

Houseinthesun.com Goes Rental
Four months after launching its website, the property portal www.houseinthesun.com presents a new section for holiday rentals.
The rental section is a result of listening to our partner agents. Many of the property agents in sunny countries work with both sales and rental. The development of the rental sections started more or less immediately after the launch of the property portal in late September 2010, according to Reidar Svedahl, Houseinthesun.com CEO.
Now it?s time for us to broaden our horizons to include rentals instead of solely focusing on the market for buying and selling properties in sunny countries, Reidar Svedahl continued.
The demand for rentals is increasing very strongly in Europe now. Low-cost carriers have started to fly to a lot of new destinations in Europe. Traditional airlines are trying to match the low prices, and the result is that people now have a lot of new places to visit at prices that are less the half of what regular airline tickets used to cost. These people, many times experienced travellers, manage to go on their own, and they like the freedom that rentals give them both in size, location and flexibility in length of stay.

SARASOTA, FLORIDA – Eric Cross has been named General Manager of Home Resource, the Florida Gulf Coast’s leading retailer of modern and contemporary home furnishings.
Cross has 29 years of experience in luxury fashion retail, creating interior and window merchandising visuals for Saks Fifth Avenue and Marshall Field’s. He last served as Visual Manager for Saks Fifth Avenue in Sarasota and Naples, Florida, and worked as a team member for new store openings and renovations in Dubai, Chicago, Las Vegas, Atlanta, La Jolla, and major markets in Florida. His movie credits include the set styling in the Beverly Hills store for the Steve Martin film “Shopgirl.”
Prior to Saks, Cross did visual merchandizing for Marshall Field’s in Chicago, where he worked on special events for designers Givenchy, Karl Lagerfeld, Valentino, Gianni Versace, Mary McFadden, Zandra Rhodes, Oscar de la Rental, Bill Blass, Perry Elliss, Clavin Klein, Paloma Picasso and Emmanuel Ungaro.
He is a graduate of the Ringling College of Art & Design, with a focus on graphic design and illustration. The son of a military family, he lived in France, Italy and South Korea before moving to the Sarasota area. He has served on numerous community committees and co-chaired the Ungala 2004 fundraiser for the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art.
